A beautiful cloudless cold winters morning with very little breeze greeted our rather small fleet of 8 for this days racing.

A general meeting was held at 9am to keep everyone informed and to ratify the Clubs direction in forthcoming matters.

SUN 6th May 2018 334Plenty of breeze was forecast for Round 1 of the winter scratch racing to be held at Manly Harbour. 

9 skippers attended with several regulars accompanied by Ken Pryor, who has a long history in sailing and a more recent interest in RC sailing, and also veteran sailor yet newcomer to model boating John Whitbread.

rose bayThe last Sunday of April was scheduled as a special Sunday Sail. There are a limited number of these throughout the year and were in response to a request from skippers to have more scratch racing opportunities.

ANZAC CHALLENGE SUN 25th APRIL 2018 24A little sparse on numbers with a total of 6 skippers attending the ANZAC challenge with a good relaxing sail but with the light variable winds not a day to lay odds as it was a matter of being in the right place at the right time.

Following an enjoyable morning of Handicap racing in which 10 races were held the attending skippers were tuned in for the Scratch series that afternoon. Throughout the morning the wind had been borderline between A rig and B rig however it was the larger of the two that mostly paid dividends.

Each one counting down the clock, for their allotted time to go

Off they went in the lights wind, all plying their skippers craft

Some more able as the wind then varied from bluster to a draft

SUN 8th APRIL 2018 223ROUND 6 OF THE SCRATCH SUMMER SERIES kicked off with a light Southerly, Peter wisely kept the yachts ashore until the expected Sou Easter came through.

Social sailing at Sovereign Waters, Wellington Point on Thursday 5th April 2018

THURSDAY 5th APRIL 2018 2Eight skippers had an 8-20am start in 8 to 10 knots of gusting SSE wind.

One sailed in B rig the others in A rig. As the morning progressed the wind freshened with gusts over 15 knots. Three skippers changed to B rigs.

TUESDAY 3rd APRIL 2017 41TUESDAY sailing this week started with a little light rain, and soon cleared to a steady breeze from the S.S.East, with a building tide and breeze, sailing was enjoyable for the regular midweekers.

On a cool damp morning with the wind South at 15 knots, eight of us set out in B rig into a windward leeward course. Dennis, with an old TS2, won the first race but was always pushed by John Mc and Andrew.

A typical shifty light south westerly wind greeted the 11 skippers for our club handicap racing today. Wins were shared among 8 skippers today and only 8 points separated the first 7 place getters. Obviously our handicap system works well.

Racing was underway shortly after 9:30 with the wind from a very southerly direction and between 2 to 6 knots. A two lap course was set by the Pro with a start/finish line in the middle of the course.
