rose bayThe last Sunday of April was scheduled as a special Sunday Sail. There are a limited number of these throughout the year and were in response to a request from skippers to have more scratch racing opportunities. It also provided an opportunity to provide for requests for different venues and even timing of sailing sessions.

This particular day had been many months in the making with several members identifying Rose Bay as a possible sailing venue. Like most of our sailing venues the weather has to be just right!

In this case the weather was just right! We had a high tide right in the middle of the session and the wind was 10 to 15 knots from the South-East. Unfortunately and very disappointing for myself and many others, of all days, there was a burst water main and the police blocked off access to the entire point.

I would like to thank all those who attended including Brett who brought the dinghy and Bruce who came to document the day. Additionally it appeared that many of our most distant members made the trek including Tony and Andrew Milne. Archo was there and Mike was on his way (having been selling at the boaties market at WMYC).

Again thanks to all for making the effort and I hope we can be rewarded and the next opportunity.
